We are a PBI (Public Benevolent Institution) and have DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient) status which means we are able to issue tax receipts for donations over $2.
Our board of 13 is overseen by Chair – Christine Bennett, Treasurer – Robert Bilyk and Secretary – Alison Claridge.
BCC Africa has a key focus on education of children who call Bethlehem Community Centre in Kenya their home. We also provide funds for other activities that help improve the lives of the children.
Funds are raised through a number of events, direct donations and regular donors. All our work is voluntary and we have very low overheads (Government compliance, website fees, minimal administration)
We also co-ordinate a volunteer team to visit the Bethlehem Community Centre about every two years. These visits are to complete specific projects and to maintain contact with the children and staff of Bethlehem Community Centre. Projects include, installation of solar power, building of chicken coops, building of bunks, repair and maintenance work.
